


Bali Tourism Reopening
The Governor of Bali has publicly declared that the island will be reopening for international tourism officially on September 11th, 2020. On Sunday Morning 5th July 2020, a new declaration concerning the “New Era of Life Order protocol” or “New Normal” has been signed by The Governor of Bali to controls the revival of the Bali economy. Three stages have been mentioned in the Decree in broadly activities including reopening Bali for international tourism.
Balinese has held a mass prayer to ask for the permission, blessing, guidance, and protection of God before announcing this new declaration. The worship took place in Pemahayu Jagad in Pura Besakih. After the ceremony, the Governor of Bali, Wayan Koster, said “For this reason, we surrender completely and sincerely, while pleading with Him to be pleased to give the best gift to all of us. I ask all Bali manners to carry out activities in these three stages by applying the New Era of Life Order Protocol in an orderly, disciplined, and with a full sense of responsibility, such as: always wearing a mask / face shield, keeping a distance, not crowding, diligently washing hands, and Clean and Healthy Behavior, as well as maintaining endurance”.
The declaration of the ‘New Era of Life Order’ comes as a relieve to local people who have been jobless since March when the island was closed to tourists and this made the Bali economy has been crushed.
Three stages of the Bali’s reopening are announced in the new declaration, which are:
- The primary stage: July 9th, 2020
Local business will start to reopening in this stage. As per direction of the National Task Force for the Acceleration of Handling Covid-19, this phase will allow the following business to operate:
- health services
- government offices
- customs and religion
- finance
- trade
- logistics
- transportation
- cooperatives
- traditional markets
- modern markets
- restaurants and stalls
- agriculture
- plantations
- marine
- fisheries
- construction
- The subsequent stage: July 31st, 2020
Domestic tourist will be allowed to come to Bali in this stage, Indonesian citizen may travel to this island for holiday or business. All tourism attraction, tours and activities also will reopen at this second stage.
- The Third Phase: September 11th, 2020
Officially, Bali will reopen the gate for international tourist.
No details have been stated if there will any requirements or trial phase.
Note* The reopening date could be pushed forward or back depending the spread of Covid-19 In Bali.
